For those in the vicinity of East Kilbride
From EK News 11th Oct 2006
TOMMOROW'S WORLD WILL ARRIVE IN
TOWN TODAY!
An exciting and inovative programme of science talks
will take place over the next six months in East Kilbride.
The science programme is the result of a partnership between South Lanarkshire
Council's Community Learning Service, Glasgow University and Scottish
Enterprise Lanarkshire.
Dr. Ravi Singhal will be delivering the talks, each one lasting for 50
minutes.
All the talks have been specifically designed to improve awareness of
the place sciences occupy within local communities and to highlight the
role science plays in everyday life.
No previous knowledge of science is required and everyone is welcome to
come along and attend the talks.
A spokesperson for the organisers said all the talks are most suitable
for secondary pupils and adults of any age.
Chair of south Lanarkshire Council's education resources committee, Councillor
Mary Smith, said:
"The talks will be entertaining as well as being informative and
thought-provoking for all attending. We are hoping to attract as many
people as possible to the talks and guarantee there will be something
for everyone, from the beginner to the expert.
We are delighted Dr Singhal has agreed to share his expertise with the
local community withing South Lanarkshire area."
