Would like to report a fireball seen from my garden last night, 55.61 lat. 4.498 lon. at 10.45pm 28/08/2006 Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.
First observed just past Hercules right across to Andromeda passing to the left of Cygnus and right of Cassiopeia faded out before reaching Andromeda. I would be struggling to put a magnitude on the meteor as have only been involved in astronomy for a year but definitely brighter than Jupiter possibly twice as bright? I witnessed a bluish trail of what appeared to be smoke trailing after the meteor. The fireball was relatively slow moving compared with the vast majority of the meteors I witnessed in the recent perseids. Sorry if this report is sketchy but until now have been unaware of the details that are required to record such an event.

I think I can confirm your fireball mate, I was in the back garden with the small scope last night looking at M31, looked up to stretch my back & just caught the trail of something coming down to the right past Cass. towards Andromeda, that would have been roughly the same time.
All I saw was a quick bluey/white trail, thought it might have been a meteor, never saw the actual fireball though.
